Compass and Trackers

The Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) have developed a number of digital tools to support Career Leaders in recording and monitoring Careers Advice and Guidance activities. All schools and colleges should be using these tools going forwards to audit their current careers provision and to keep track of their careers related activity.

What is Compass?

Compass was built in partnership with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, to help Career Leaders easily discover their strengths and find areas for improvement.  Once completed, the tool provides a confidential report and resources to help the school or college achieve each benchmark.

Compass +

Compass+ is our new tool to help you benchmark, manage, track and report on your school’s careers programme. Compass+ is available for all secondary schools, special schools, sixth-forms and PRUs in England.

Features and benefits

  • Save time and plan with ease

  • Be more strategic and targeted

  • Measure and monitor effectively

  • Collaborate with colleagues

  • Reach and build a wider network

Tracker

Once the Compass evaluation has been completed for a school or college, the Careers Leader can use the careers planning tool, Tracker, to record and manage their careers plan for the year.

With each completed careers activity, class or event, Tracker helps to record and identify how the school or college is improving their careers education activity against the 8 benchmarks of best practice – known as the Gatsby Benchmarks.

Tracker is free to use for all schools and colleges.

Features and benefits

  • Build and manage the school or college annual plan for careers and enterprise activity, targeted to gaps
