BESP - Luton
Business, Education and Skills Partnership
Our business breakfast meetings are a series of 6 minutes meetings with a small groups of students who ask questions that relate the employer’s industry; the types of jobs available, qualifications needed for entry, career progression, day to day job role, likes and dislikes and journey into industry.
BESP Online
We would like to invite employers and employees to participate in the BESP Online activity to provide young people in schools with a greater understanding of the world of work.
There are 2 parts to our initiative. Firstly, employers and employees are invited to record short videos about their career journey that can be shared with students in the classroom. Secondly the schools are scheduling live Q and A sessions via media platforms that can be facilitated by school staff.
For your reassurance and safeguarding purposes anyone participating will not be able to see or talk directly to the students but will be able to answer questions relayed by school staff.
Please see the Employer Information outlining how to create and share your video and the schedule of live Q and A sessions for you to sign up to. Ideally, to make the experience meaningful as meaningful as possible, students would benefit from live Q and A sessions with guests that have also created videos so would be great if you are able to do both.
If you would like to find out more please contact Julie.lockwood@luton.gov.uk or register your interest at careershubluton@luton.gov.uk
We know that many businesses are restricted by the use of virtual platforms as are the schools, so have included this information where available.
